The Long Route Home: On July 25, 1946, two youthful dark couples-Roger and Dorothy Malcom, George and Mae Murray Dorsey-were murdered by a lynch crowd at the Moore’s Ford Bridge over the Appalachee River interfacing Walton and Oconee Counties (Brooks, 1).
